Can I spray paint leather?

I would like to know if it's possible to spray paint leather? I am looking for a metallic type of leather and I have bags of leather scraps already. Is there a special type of paint that would work or am I dreamin?

Thanks!Can I spray paint leather?

I've been doing leather work for nearly six years, I assure you either of the avenues I give here will work.

If your looking for metallic leather dyes try here, http://wardrobesupplies.com/store/m2_tarrago.html , I believe they have a gold and a silver dye. Also if you still want to use paint you can try acrylic paints and there are instructions here on how to do it, http://www.ehow.com/how_15424_paint-leather.html
You could paint it, but why? It'll look like dreck, and be prone to cracking besides. If you don't like the color, dye it!
