Is it legal to spray paint a toy gun black in Maryland?

In response to people with toy guns being shot %26amp; killed under the perception that they were armed %26amp; dangerous, all toy guns are required to have a bright orange band around the end of the barrel to help distinguish them from real guns.





If you paint a toy gun black, in effect disguising it as a real gun, you are setting yourself up to be shot %26amp; killed. Generally speaking, this sort of thing is frowned upon and not considered to be a good idea.Is it legal to spray paint a toy gun black in Maryland?
lol first off spray painting a toy gun black is not a bright idea, second of all it could be a misdemeanor or possibly a felony depending on what your intentions or actions are on it, if you spray paint it black and just use it for fun around the house like playing cops and robbers or what not no, but if you go rob a store or hold some one up, regardless if its fake or not that is a felony and a violent crime which is 85% time and hella points in the prison system. play with your toy guns wiselyIs it legal to spray paint a toy gun black in Maryland?
There is a reason that toy guns have those orange or red highlighted parts (bits at the mussel tip / trigger, etc.) . It is now against the law in many States to modify the toy gun to prevent a person from being taken seriously and getting shot in the process.
You can spray paint a toy gun any color you want, but if you use a modified toy gun in a crime, you will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. I have seen this happen many times.
It is legal when you paint it, but not legal when you use it in that colour, no joke, just the facts. For example, silver or gray would be as bad. Toys must legally have an orange tip.
I don't know about legality but, it would be stupid. Someone would be asking to get shot.


They color toy guns flourescent colors for a reason.
