Using Steam to play Half Life 1 Multiplayer, how can you create your own spray paint image?

I'm using the program Steam to play the original Half Life, and I wanted to make my own spray paint image. I have the image I want to use, but I don't know where to save it, or how big to make the image, etc. Is this even possible?
