Can u use spray paint on paper?

Ok, so I'm doing this project at school. I have to paint this container white:) But its like made out of paper well hard kind and its kinda smooth. I wanna use spray paint cuz then i dont have to paint the overcoat like a lot. so does it works? Can u use spray paint on paper?
Generally you can spray most paints on paper. Depending on the thickness and/or sturdiness of the paper material the consistent problem to watch out for is over saturating the paper with liquid. This will cause the paper to become soggy, wrinkle, ripple or even collapse if it is not supported with some sort of skeletal structure like wire underneath (as in papier m芒ch茅).

Spray a single thin coat. Allow that to dry. Then apply a second thicker coat. Do not apply any heavy coats of paint. Can u use spray paint on paper?
Yes, you can. Find a strong paper, spray a thin layer as an underpaint and sealer. You can ad as many layers you want to build thickness. You may want to end with glossy enamel to accomplish that smooth, glassy look and impermeability.
