None. Don't use a thinner it will attack the plastic. For acrylic you should be able to thin it with a water and alchol mixture. This will obvious depend on how thick the paint is to start with. A half alcohol half water mix is a good start. Experiment a little and you should be able to get great results with an airbrush. Good luck and hope this helps. How much thinner do you put in acrylic paint to spray with an airbrush on a plastic model kit?
Hey There,
Try Golden Artist Colors Airbrush paint. It is specifically made for airbrushing application and adheres extremely well to plastic. It is already in a very liquid state but still has a strong pigment load. It's better than thinning acrylic paint with water. If you do want to thin a different paint, Golden makes an airbrush medium that will thin the material but not reduce adhesion to the surface. Take a look at the information on their website. It's a great resource! You can also get any of their products on line at dickblick.com if there's not a store near you that carries golden. They are such a great company. They are also 100% American so you can call them during the day to get the best technical support. Their number's on the website. http://www.goldenpaints.com/products/color/airbrush/airbru1.phpHow much thinner do you put in acrylic paint to spray with an airbrush on a plastic model kit?
I use Krylon fusion paint - it bonds to the plastic and gives great results - its easier then setting up an airbrush.
