I agree with Tugar. Why would you ever spray paint a gun? If you need/want it to be refinished, have it done right. Some spray paints will corrode the hell out of your barrel, not to mention just look like crap.
if you got some piece of crap gun (like a lorcin or raven jam-o-matic) spray paint is an option. For quality guns spray paint will ruin the gun.
cheap guns you can use lacquer or acrylic gloss. like for refinishing use.
decent guns of any kind or better I'd advise you either refinish it properly for pay a gunsmith to do it for you.
Have it professionally refinished. Do not use spray paint. It won't be tough enough and a simple scratch will show.
I can almost guarantee it will look horrible and you'll hate it. Would you spray paint your car?
