I have some white multi-purpose spray paint.I am planning on using it to spray the colored buttons on an extra Guitar Hero 3 controller (the controller broke,but the neck still works). Will the spray paint i have work fine?

Probably not. I would use Krylon's Fusion paint. It is made specifically to bond with plastic.
