If you are getting bubbles, it sounds like you are spraying on too thick of a coat, or you waited too long to recoat. Before you start, you should scape off any loose finish, and lightly sand the wood with fine sand paper (220 grit would do). Then wipe everything off with paint thinner to remove all the dust. Spray thin coats, waiting the recommended amount of time between coats. Some paints will tell you to recoat within (for example) 2 hours, or after (for example) 72 hours.

To fix this, scrape off the bubbles, and lightly sand the area to fair it out. Wipe the entire surface with paint thinner to remove the dust, and respray it.Spray paint bubbling what do i do?
How long do the directions on the can recommend that the paint dry before applying a second coat? To test how well the first coat is adhering, use your finger nail and scratch lightly on a small area. Does the paint roll up or flake off? Rolling up is a sign that the paint hasn't cured well enought yet or that the surface underneath (my guess) wasn't prepped correctly.
You needed to lightly sand the nightstand and then prime it first for the spray paint to stick and not bubble.
