just clear coat it and hope for the best...some paint will dull in the sunlight.you may have to tcut the rest of the car to match the new, fresh paint.I have touched up my car with touch up spray paint, and its lighter than the rest! does anyone know if it will
it can darken when you put lacquer on but it can also make it look brighter as well alot depends on the colour,my advice is to always do a spray out card first to check the colour, the best spray cans to use are the ones that are made up in the shop you can check the colour against your petrol flap if you take it to the shop with you and they can tint it if need be,just remember the colour is going to look lighter until it has flashed off(touch dry),if it is a base and clear colour it will dry with a matt finish, then you will need to apply you lacquer to give it a gloss don't leave it too long between your base and clear or the lacquer won't stick,do it too soon and the lacquer will drag the colour.Hope this helps
if your car is a year old or older you will never match the paint out of a spray can, paint starts to fade almost immediately once it's exposed to the sun and weather, it takes a good bodyman with expensive equiptment and know how to match older paint.
It's a good tip if possible to spray a whole panel. The joints easily mask any slight shade difference. Getting an accurate touch-up colour can be difficult
It should darken. Shouldn;t you put the clearcoat on shortly after your color base? The spray can touchups that I've used get base color then clear after about an hour.
you should rub down the sprayed area with fine grade production paper and sray on your clear coat when dry it will darken
